THE “RINSPEED”-STORY
1977: Starting point of RINSPEED GARAGE (RINSPEED = Founder Frank M. RINderknecht) with the import of sunroofs from the U.S. and conversions of cars for handicapped drivers.
1979: First time at the Geneva International Motor Show, Launching of the VW Golf Turbo based on the GTi. Presentation of the first on the market available headlight grill with rectangular lights. Founding of RINSPEED INC.
1981: Presentation of the RINSPEED “Aliporta”, the internationally renown VW Golf with gull-wing doors. Moving of the offices from Küsnacht to the city center of Zürich.
1982: AMG-representation and exclusive distributor for Switzerland.
1983: First Porsche shown RINSPEED Porsche 939 Targa at the Geneva International Motor Show.

1985: Launching of the RINSPEED R69 Turbo based on the Porsche 911 Turbo with inspiration of the Ferrari Testarossa.
1986: Expansion of the offices in Zürich, integration of a show room.
1988: AC SCHNITZER-representation and exclusive distributor for Switzerland. First use of PES-(Poly-Ellipsoid)-projector-headlights on a exhibited Porsche.
1990: Moving of the offices to larger and modern facilities in Zumikon, close to Zürich. Cooperation with Mercedes-Benz and AMG.
1991: Introduction of the RINSPEED_Porsche Turbo Speedsters, the world’s fastest version at the Geneva International Motor Show.
1992: Creation of the RINSPEED_Nissan “SpeedArt” by Rolf Knie, hand-painted with 420 circus horses.
1993: Presentation of the RINSPEED_Viper “Veleno” in a striking green color. A!Avantgarde-representation and exclusive distributor for Switzerland.
1994: World novelty RINSPEED_Bugatti “Cyan” introduced at the Geneva International Motor Show.
1995: World novelties RINSPEED_Roadster R and SC-R as a own make introduced at the Geneva International Motor Show. First introduction of the RINSPEED Formula One World at the Geneva International Motor Show.
1996: Introduction of the RINSPEED_Yello Talbo at the Geneva International Motor Show in cooperation with the famous music group Yello. Creators of the interactive SPORT ARENA at the Geneva International Motor Show covering approximately 20’000 sqft.
1997: World novelty RINSPEED_Mono Ego introduced in cooperation with the french designer Jean-Charles de Castelbajac at the Geneva International Motor Show. Interactive SPORT ARENA at the Geneva International Motor Show covering 20’000 sqft repeated.
1998: World novelty RINSPEED_E-Go Rocket at the Geneva International Motor Show Interactive “ADVENTURE DRIVE” as the first indoor offroad course at the Geneva International Motor Show.
1999: World novelty RINSPEED_X-Dream at the Geneva International Motor Show as a unique and inventive Multi Utility Vehicle concept. Interactive “ADVENTURE DRIVE” at the Geneva International Motor Show.
2000: World novelty RINSPEED Tatooo.com – a 50s hot roddish pick-up truck with the “X-Tra-Lift”.2001 : World novelty RINSPEED Rone a environment friendly and lowest sports car in the world.
2002: World novelty RINSPEED_Presto – the versatile city car and roadster powered by a bi-fuel engine.
